I'm here!

I have arrived! Here we go everyone, I'm in Virginia. It's crazy to think about the past 48 hours because they were well... Crazy. I got up and had a final Wednesday morning at 7:30 in SLO. That followed with coffee and hang out seasons until 4 when my mom and I left to go to SFO.  We stopped by the grandparent's house (who were under the impression I would be in New York for the summer, not sure where that came from!) and then said goodbye to mom at 10pm Wednesday night. I boarded around midnight and thought about sleeping.
I ended up thinking a lot about sleeping but only did a tiny bit of it. Thankfully. I say this because God placed a young man named Jeff by me on the plane. He is a graduate student at Stanford. Jeff and I started talking and we ended up talking about our religions and what we believe. Between the first flight, the layover, and the second flight (we sat next to each other on both flights) I ended up having the opportunity to share about the Gospel and my heart of what I believe. It was pretty amazing. It turns out his roommate and best friend is a leader of CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) and he has been thinking about what being a Christ Follower would look like for some time. The whole thing was a huge God appointment.
So I got off the plane, met Michelle Seo (I'm living with her and her family), made a quick Target stop, and went "home." A few hours later I was at a staff meeting, meeting the pastor and co-workers from the church I'll be going to, and it was amazing. The meeting started with an Andy Stanly talk from Catalyst. Wow. Yeah this church is amazing.
So over all this is just an update post about the highlights of the past two days. Thanks for the prayers. I felt them.
Much love!!!

Firsts

Hi friends! I am exited about this new chapter of life opening in front of me. As you know, I am moving for the summer to Virginia. To move for a summer is not exceptionally exiting, and it is not even uncommon. So, I will try to keep my excitement to a reasonable level (can you tell this is my first time being away from home for an extended amount of time? I'm trying not to sound as young as I am). The reason I am choosing to do this blog is that I don't have a Facebook, but some friends want to see pictures of what I am seeing and hear updates of how the summer is going. I hope too that this adventure will be the first of many adventures. This blog will follow me in my wandering and adventuring.
If you're wondering what I'll be doing in Va, well that's a good question! I know that I'll be living with family friends,  I'll be interning at a church for Children's Ministry, and hopefully I'll be drinking a lot of iced tea. If that doesn't quite answer the question, or you're a details person, too bad. That's about all I know :)
So here goes! I'm ready to get going (15 days till I leave!). If you think of it, please pray that I remember everything I need to bring, that I have safe travels, and that I am a blessing to the family I'll be living with.
Much love in Christ,
Erin
